Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to two actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. On her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first TV roles. The family did not allow her to play until she became an adult in fear of the effects stress would have on their daughter. Perry said that she was too shy to act in high school but began playing in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer to the university from Boston University. Perry when she graduated from Boston University moved in New York in search of television roles. The actress was offered small roles in TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In the end, the feeling of homelessness caused her to move to California to find theater work. The show she performed in was Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. In 2015 she performed alongside her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in nine episodes of the ABC drama The Family in 2016. She had a regular role in the ABC Drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. The actress was also featured on The CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger of Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. It was her first role despite her close connections to the character's family.
