Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. In her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first television roles. Her parents did not allow her to begin acting with her parents till the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the strain it might cause. Perry was shy throughout high school and wasn't a good actor. She began acting at Northwestern University to gain friends after she was transferred from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University moved into New York in search of acting roles on television. The actress was offered small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In the end, the feeling of homelessness caused her to move to California to pursue theater opportunities. She performed on Broadway with her mother in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. She also appeared alongside her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. In 2017, she played a recurring role on The ABC film Scandal with her father. In addition, she appeared on the CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The character was assigned by audition even though she is a relative to the role.
