Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first TV roles. The family did not allow her to play until she turned an adult due to the effects stress would have on their daughter. Perry stated that she felt shy to act at the age of 16, but she began acting in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to build relationships after her transfer to the university from Boston University. Perry following her graduation from Boston University, relocated from Boston to New York in search of the role on TV. She landed small parts in television shows, such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In the end, the feeling of homelessness led her to California for theater roles. In 2013, she appeared in The Other Place on Broadway together with her mom. In 2015, she performed with her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna Christie in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry made an appearance in 9 episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. In 2017, Perry was a part-time character in ABC's thriller about politics Scandal that starred her father. In addition, she appeared on The CBS show The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. Despite the fact that she has a connection with her family to this character, she received the part through an audition.
